Grant City: Where Are You?

Here's a personal peeve of mine that I'd like to discuss - false real estate listings.

Our civic calendar year stretches from September to June. In anticipation, every August, we cover the neighborhood with flyers announcing our schedule. Volunteers are organized and assigned a block or two (or three) with a delivery made to every house.

Grant City, in Staten Island terms, is located Mid-Island. Dongan Hills is to our north, New Dorp to our south, Midland Beach to our east and Todt Hill to our west.

We recognize our boundaries as Jefferson Avenue to our north, Bancroft Avenue to our south, Hylan Boulevard to our east, and Richmond Road to our west - forming a nice polygon on a map:

But, there's some disagreement when it comes to real estate agencies. Grant City should have ocean views according to some.
Here are some recent examples:

#1

#2 This one suggests that the borderline is about six blocks east of Hylan Boulevard.

#3 Lovely views of Raritan Bay

#4 But, Grant City is not only expanding to the east, it's shrinking from the south.

#5 MLS-1042444

#6 And, they're not even consistent when insulting a neighborhood.

Do we need to make more flyers?
