November's Meeting Digestion
For me, the highlight of November's meeting was our guest speaker, Ignazio Terranova. Don't get me wrong, I greatly appreciated the MTA brass, Chief Thomas Odessa and Captain Jerry Damora, but Mr. Terranova touched on issues that I find to be of greater importance in everyday life.
For those of you who weren't in attendance, Ignazio Terranova is the Citywide Community Affairs Officer for the NYC Department of Sanitation. His no-nonsense, direct approach is something I believe that all public servants should stride for. On several occasions, audience members questioned whether or not they'd be ticketed for certain violations, Mr. Ignazio replied "Well....yes". There were no politics involved in order to easily digest the answer. You violate DOS code, you get fined - very simple. That is why I found him so impressive.
Now it's time for me to digest 40 pages of DOS code.
